Armenian government approved the concept for forming e-society

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian government approved the concept on forming e-society for 2010-2012.

Mediamax reports that Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan stated today that the concept represents a “road map” on popularization of internet and electronic services in Armenia.

They plan to realize the concept by four stages, which should become breakthrough ones for internet and information technologies’ development in the country. At the first stage, they plan to spread high speed internet, at the second – to increase the level of the population computerization, implement electronic services.

Nerses Yeritsyan stated that the road map gives in-detail description of the role of all interested parties and program participants, defines investment liabilities of companies.

According to the concept, there will be a Council formed, headed by Armenian Prime Minister, which will include a few authoritative figures of IT sphere of Armenian origin.
