Yerevan/Mediamax/. Orange has started a large-scale partnership project with Gavar State University. As part of the partnership agreement, students will be provided the chance to pass their internship in Orange and participate in the training and qualification courses organized for them by qualified Orange employees who will also provide consultancy to the University for the planning of its academic program.
Bruno Duthoit, the CEO of Orange Armenia, said: “With Gavar University we are summarizing an important phase of 2011, during which we launched partnerships with 9 Universities in Armenia. These agreements have established very close relations between the universities and Orange, as an employer, in order to facilitate recruitment of students, as well as support to the best students among those who have financial difficulties. I am delighted to note that most of them are regional universities or regional branches of Yerevan universities, as regional students need our support more in starting a good career.”
Orange Armenia, through its philanthropic organization, the Orange Foundation, transferred 1 million AMD as scholarships for 8 students, already chosen through the proposal of the university based on two basic criteria, i.e., social situation of the students’ families and their overall academic progress.
During the second half of 2011 Orange started partnerships with 9 Universities in Armenia.
As part of the partnership agreements, trainings and qualification courses have already been provided to the students, visits have been organized to different departments of the company and 4 Wi-Fi corners have been created where students and teachers can access Internet through free Orange Wi-Fi. Scholarships have been allotted to a total of 62 students, mainly in regions.
