Yerevan/Mediamax/. “ArmenTel” CJSC Sales Director Alexander Sivolapov said today that “prices, which Armenian operators pay to European operators for organizing roaming of Armenian subscribers in Europe, strongly differ from the prices, which European operators use for mutual settlement of accounts among themselves”.
Mediamax reports that Alexander Sivolapov said this, speaking at the meeting of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) in Yerevan today.
“ArmenTel” representative noted that in accordance with Armenian legislation, rules have been established for provision of roaming services to mobile operators, including the maximum size of price markup (15%) to the cost of the service, defined by an agreement with the operator of the guest network.
“One should take into account the fact that as opposed to EU, CIS cannot yet be described a single economic zone with unified legislation and this is why reduction of tariffs for roaming services in CIS territory is possible only in case of unification of legislation in the sphere of telecommunications, and this, in its turn, will require elaboration and signing of corresponding interstate agreements”, Alexander Sivolapov said.
““ArmenTel” CJSC, just like other companies, entering “VimpelCom” group, takes interest in commercially attractive tariffs for roaming services for subscribers and is ready to participate in RCC Workgroup on tariff policy issues”, Sales Director of “ArmenTel” CJSC said.
