Tablet holder designed by My Day At Home Armenian Startup makes the daily life of elders comfortable.
The startup’s Marketing Manager Lucy Aleksanyan told Itel.am that the holder has multicolour lighting and motion session (when people enter the room, the tablet lights up and is easy to find).
“The holder also allows to charge the tablet and other devices. We intend to add Bluetooth and gas detection functions later. The latter means that when the air in the room contains too much methane gas, the device alarms the person through a signal. We plan to add embedded speakers too. The device will also include a set of the simplest applications (news, weather forecast, calendar, etc.),” noted Lucy Aleksanyan.
According to her, they mostly target elder people who find it difficult to move a lot, aren’t mobile or avoid using technologies.
“In modern world, electronic devices are rapidly developing, and elderly people also tend to learn using them. We develop solutions for the comfort and entertainment of elderly people. The prototype of the device is ready at the moment,” noticed Lucy Aleksanyan.
Project designer Mariam Galinyan informed in her turn that they have enough means to develop the prototype, but they are searching for financing and counseling to begin mass production.
“Since care homes are especially common in USA, American market will be the main target. We’ll carry out production in Armenia. By estimate, our device will cost under USD 200,” observed Mariam Galinyan.
The team of 5 people plans to work on finding partners in the next three months.
My Day At Home was one of the winners of Grants contest organized with the help of Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Armenian Ministry of Economy and the World Bank. The team took the 3rd place in Startup Cup competition between the startups.
