5th Open Game public expo to be held

On October 24, from 12:00-17:00, Moscow Cinema will host the public expo of the 5th “Open Game” anniversary championship of computer and mobile games. This is reported by event organizers, who are glad to invite all fans of  gaming industry to attend the expo and vote for the best game.

“Open Game” championship aims to reveal young talents, develop game industry in Armenia, as well as to introduce “Made in Armenia” brand in IT domain. It also motivates young people, gives them the opportunity to communicate with IT and especially game industry experts, forming the Jury of the championship, as well as get consultations,  share new ideas and so on.

Karen Vardanyan, Director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) – the organizer of “Open Game” championship, notes: “We are glad that thanks to the support of Orange Armenia for the 5th year in a row we are able to reveal our young talents and thus foster the game industry in Armenia.” 

“It’s already the 5th “Open Game” championship in a row and we are pleased to see that during these 5 years it has truly become a traditional and long-awaited event. During this period many innovative ideas and projects were brought to life and this year is not an exception. So, we invite everyone to attend tomorrow’s expo and enjoy ready-made projects of our talented participants. We have a surprise for our participants as well, 3 of them will have the chance to pass internships in our company and discover as well as be directly involved in the projects implemented by our professional teams” says Aleksandr Yesayan, General Director of Orange Armenia.

Tatevik Sargsyan, Director of MobliOS company - the official and exclusive distributor of Huawei in Armenia, adds: ““Open Game” championship is one of those unique platforms enabling young Armenians, endowed with many talents, to showcase their potential and to progress in this industry. We are extremely happy that Huawei also has its contribution to this year’s initiative.”    

“Open Game” championship of computer and mobile games is held in 4 stages. This year 30 projects have participated in the contest out of which 10 have reached the 4th final stage. Participants compete in the “Best Technical Solution”, “Best Design”, “Best 2D Game”, “Best 3D Game”, “Special Prize”, “Best Educational Game” and “Popularity Prize” nomination categories. “Popularity Prize” will be awarded to the game that will receive the most votes during the public voting. The winners in other categories will be selected by the professional Jury. Winners will receive gifts from Orange Armenia and Huawei companies.

The games developed in the scope of the championship can be downloaded from opengame.am website, as well as from Google Play and Apple Store.

“Open Game” Championship is organized for the 5th time in a row by the UITE and Orange Armenia. This year Huawei company as well is the partner of the championship.
