Today Orange has summarized the results of “To Cannes 2015” video-contest, which this year was held under the theme of “100 years of revival”.
Gurgen Yeghyan, whose video was among the top 15 rated on Facebook and received the highest appreciation of the Jury, will now have the unique opportunity to become a VIP guest of Orange at the 68th Cannes Film Festival. The video, which paid tribute to the Armenian Genocide at the same time indicating vividly the revival of the Armenian people, that brought Gurgen this exceptional prize is available here.
The prize awarded to Gurgen is a complete VIP package for two, which includes air tickets, a room in the Majestic 5-star hotel, a driver and access to the Red Carpet, together with world-known cinema stars. Gurgen will participate at a screening on May 20, with the person of his choice.
“This year is very important for all Armenians around the world, as it marks the centenary of the Armenian Genocide. It was important for us not only to commemorate these terrible events but on the other side to illustrate the revival of the Armenian people. I would like to thank all the participants who submitted their short films thus expressing their solidarity, as well as everyone who actively voted. It was very interesting and emotional for us to watch creative films of this young people, which themselves symbolize the revival of Armenia” said Francis Gelibter, Orange Armenia General Director.
In total 30 short videos participated in the contest, commemorating the Armenian Genocide and honoring the achievements of the Armenian people in the last century. From April 2 to April 28 all Orange subscribers had the chance to submit short videos and participate in the Facebook video-contest. Compared to last year not only the number of participants has significantly increased but as well the number of votes, exceeding 6000. The viewership in YouTube has as well increased visibly this year, reaching around 10500.
The other authors of the top 15 rated videos received surprise gifts from Orange and “Moscow” cinema: possibility to visit unlimitedly Moscow cinema with a friend during one month.
