The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) and VivaCell-MTS have initiated a tree-planting in a treeless area of the Zoo, as part of the forestation works.
In total, about 60 trees, including mountain ash, maple, chestnut, and plane tree, were planted within the frames of the action. The tree-planting was conducted by 30 volunteers from VivaCell-MTS.
The selection of trees for the action is in accordance with the requirements of the animal and bird species living in the Zoo. The main objective of the tree planting action is to contribute to the preservation of the biodiversity of the micro area of the Zoo. The tree-planting is also aimed at focusing the attention of the society and mobilizing efforts of all organizations and citizens to have their input in the urban greening activities.
VivaCell-MTS treats environmental issues with great importance participating with its staff in the tree planting activities on a continuous basis. Together with FPWC, the Company aims to extend the common tree planting activities into continual and consistent work, by involving the youth.
