Beeline to expand and modernize 3G network in Armenia

Yerevan /Mediamax/. In the first year of 3G network operation, the volume of data transfer in Armenian Beeline network increased 4.5 times.

As Mediamax was informed in the press service of “ArmenTel”, on September 26, it will be a year since the launch of Beeline 3G network revenue service, the first third generation mobile connection network in Armenia. Construction of the network and supply of equipment were realized by Ericsson Company basing on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solution.

Development of 3G allowed significantly improving the quality and convenience of using the already existing data exchange services: the subscribers gain high speed of multimedia content download; the convenience of working with email, file applications, online games increases. At present, over 70% of Beeline mobile network subscribers’ entire traffic volume in Armenia is transferred in 3G network.

“The need in data transfer increases each day and in the nearest future we intend to significantly expand and modernize the existing 3G network, which will allow significantly increasing the speed of data transfer”, General Director of “ArmenTel” CJSC Igor Klimko stated.
