Yerevan /Mediamax/. “Arminco” offers “ArmenTel” to sign a bilateral agreement on peering (technical interaction of internet operators in the sphere of traffic exchange between the networks), composed by the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia.
As the Technical Director of “Arminco” Grigor Saghyan informed Mediamax, they assure that the new transmission capacity of “ArmenTel”, the list of the company’s networks will be mentioned in the agreement and the responsibility for maintenance of lines, connecting the networks of “ArmenTel” and “Arminco” will be delimited. According to Grigor Saghyan, the given measures will allow improving peering access of 2 Megabit per second, established by “ArmenTel”.
He expressed hope that the new management of “ArmenTel” will sign a contract on interconnect, suggested by the PSRC. “Moreover, if, for any reason, “ArmenTel” is not comfortable with the proposal of PSRC and if the company composes its own contract on peering, we are ready to sign it”, Grigor Saghyan stated. According to the Technical Director of “Arminco”, the above-mentioned measures will allow solving problems with peering between the two companies, which have been there for already 4 years.
Commenting on Mediamax’s request on the proposal of “Arminco” Technical Director, Spokeswoman of “ArmenTel” Anush Begloyan stated:
“The rough text of the contract, mentioned by Mr. Saghyan, was spread by PSRC among the members of IT community to be discussed as a recommended sample contract. The participants of IT community, including the Union of IT Enterprises, expressed many remarks and made their suggestions on changing it. There were also significant legal risks, contained in the given document, voiced as well. This is why, at present “ArmenTel” CJSC does not consider it as the final document”.
