“Cornet-AM” receives permission to use radiofrequencies for operating satellite connection in Armenia’s Kotayk marz

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Public Service Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia made a decision today to provide “Cornet-AM” company with permission to use radiofrequencies for operating satellite connection in Kotayk marz.

Mediamax reports that the General Director of “Cornet-AM” Company Boris Demirkhanyan noted that the company provides WiMax services already in 18 towns of Armenia. He informed that the number of the company’s subscribers makes 2780, 720 of which outside Yerevan.

Boris Demirkhanyan noted that, according to the business plan, the return of the company’s investments makes 5 years, and “if such dynamics is preserved, the company’s investments will be repaid within the mentioned period”.

He also noted that “Cornet-AM” intends to start providing landline connection in Armenia on October 1. According to him, the corresponding equipment is already installed and testing is planned for late September.

Boris Demirkhanyan stressed that by the end of September the company plans to discuss tariffs with “ArmenTel” Company, after which one will be able to start providing landline connection services.
