Today, on the Day of Nagorno Karabakh Independence, Stepanakert hosted the opening ceremony of Tumo Center for Creative Technologies.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and NKR President Bako Sahakyan attended the ceremony, the Armenian presidential press service reports.
The opening of Tumo was supported by Simonian Educational Foundation and AGBU. Around 500 teenagers will study in the new center.
The AGBU will fund the operational expenditures of the center as well as the initial expenses in cooperation with Tumo. The NKR government has allocated an area in the historical building in the Stepanakert city center.
The reconstruction of the building was funded by Karabakh Telecom.
It should be recalled that the first Tumo (Tumo Yerevan) was established by Sam and Silva Simonians by the Simonian Educational Foundation; it opened its doors on August 14, 2011.
Owing to the Central Bank’s “Knowledge for Development” programme, Tumo opened in Dilijan in 2013 (with 300 students). This May, Gyumri Tumo also opened.
