Several SMS filtering and spam blocking systems are introduced in VivaCell-MTS network.
VivaCell-MTS spokesman Vahe Isahakyan said this responding to Mediamax’s request.
He particularly pointed out “anti-spam” software which is aimed at detecting unwanted SMS-es and thus protecting subscribers against the messages.
Vahe Isahakyan explained that SMPP protocol introduced in the company allows finding out and distinguishing between common short messages and suspicious spam.
According to Vahe Isahakyan, VivaCell-MTS is consistent in preventing from SMS spam. It’s been long time that the company has been protecting its subscribers from unwanted short messages coming from the internet, he said.
“Our company blocks hundreds of spam messages almost every day thus not allowing them to reach our subscribers”, he said.
Answering Mediamax’s question as to how it’s possible to limit dissemination of the short messages, Vahe Isahakyan said:
“VivaCell-MTS cooperates with several companies providing premium services. One of the provisions of the agreement regulating relations between our company and companies providing premium services sets some penalties in case the companies send short advertising messages to subscribers without the prior consent of the operator”.
