VimpelCom to cooperate with MasterCard in mobile payments sphere

VimpelCom Group and MasterCard stated start of their strategic cooperation during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 26.

In Armenia, VimpelCom owns ArmenTel (Beeline brand).

Within the cooperation, MasterCard will offer best innovative solutions to VimpelCom users in 18 countries of the world, ArmenTel reported.

The pilot phase of the program will start in Italy this year and will be available to the Wind Italy network users.

ArmenTel's spokeswoman Anush Begloyan told Itel.am that the cooperation with MasterCard will cover all the countries of VimpelCom presence but there are no definite dates for Armenia.
