Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian sportsmen who won in the international Quadra Drive 2012 festival were rewarded by ArmenTel (Beeline trademark) and \"Adrenalin\" Armenian extreme sports association.
32 sportsmen from Armenia, Georgia and Russia took part in the Jeep Trophy contest which was held in the Tavush marz of Armenia on September 15-16. Starting in Dilijan, participants passed the off-road track with the help of topographic maps through the control points overcoming mountainous areas of Major and Minor Maimekh and finished in Ijevan. The winners of the 16-hour drive were picked up by the number of points they scored, ArmenTel reported.
Yerevan residents won prizes in the off-road class: David Martirosyan, Ruben Sahakyan and Lyudvig Yermayan who took the first, second and third places respectively. In the quadrocycle class, also Yerevan residents took the lead - Edward Gaifajyan, Garegin Arzumanyan and Hakob Karakhanyan who took the gold, silver and bronze respectively.
\"Again Armenian sportsmen proved their mastership demonstrating robustness and willingness to win on the hard highways and in off-road conditions. President of the Extreme Sports Association of Armenia Artashes Stepanyan thanked ArmenTel for supporting extreme sports programs, for the company\'s contribution to the development of not only professional drivers but also young sportsmen and raising the team spirit in them and willingness to win.
The participants of the contest overcame overall about 180 km. Thousands of residents of Dilijan, Ijevan and villages nearby watched the tournament. The awards ceremony was held in Ijevan and was accompanied by a festive concert.
