About 5200 Armenian taxpayers acquired e-signatures

Yerevan/Mediamax/. About 5200 Armenian taxpayers have acquired electronic signatures to use the new system of tax billing, Assistant Director of the E-Governance Infrastructure Implementation Unit (EKENG) Lilit Kazaryan stated in an interview to Mediamax.

She noted that at present applications for getting electronic signatures are still being received by the office. The applications, if they are filled in correctly, are met within 15 minutes.

“Two service centers function in Yerevan and in the course of two weeks, another center will be opened in Vanadzor”, Lilit Kazaryan stated.

Mediamax was informed in the State Revenue Committee of Armenia that “de facto” about 1500 taxpayers have already managed to use the electronic system of tax billing in Armenia. They have already billed 250 thousands of tax accounts. The Committee expressed content in connection with the speeds of the transition among taxpayers to a new platform, noting that “such a thing is rare in world practice, when only a month after introduction of the new information system, over 250 thousands of tax accounts enter the base”.

Commenting on Mediamax’s request on how the introduction of the new system influences the private sector, Director of AcTrade-Soft Company Tigran Sargsian stated that the system in general has facilitated the work of the taxpayers. At that he recommended tax bodies to improve the system of user support.

Starting from January 1, 2011, the changes to the law on “Value Added Tax” came into effect. According to those changes, the billing of tax accounts is carried out electronically, or by means of special forms, issued by tax bodies.
