Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan and Head of “Rossotrudnichestvo” Federal Agency Farit Mukhametshin signed a memorandum “On opening a Russian-Armenian Center for Innovative Cooperation” in Yerevan today.
Mediamax reports that Nerses Yeritsyan noted that opening of the Center will mark a new stage of cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of science and innovations. According to him, this project is the first on the territory of CIS countries, and this obliges that it should be a success, since it may contribute to consolidation of CIS strength to realize an interstate target program of innovative cooperation.
“Establishment of favorable conditions by the government for developing science and business will speed up the process of consolidation of economy in Armenia, based on knowledge, and the key role here will belong to innovations”, Nerses Yeritsyan stated.
The welcoming speech of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, read out by Ambassador of Russia Vyacheslav Kovalenko, noted that the Center may become a platform for constructive dialogue and broadening of contacts between representatives of business communities, scientists, professors and lecturers of Russian and Armenian higher educational institutions.
According to Deputy Head of “Rossotrudnichestvo” Igor Morozov, the Center is meant to unite the creative potential of two countries, in particular, the production-technical base and the educational segment.
“The Center will have to accept Armenia’s ideas and implement them basing on Russian structures”, Igor Morozov stated.
