Yerevan /Mediamax/. Annual exhibition of high technologies “DigiTec Expo 2009” was launched in Yerevan today at the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian.
Mediamax reports that, speaking at the exhibition, Director of the Union of IT Enterprises (UITE), which is the organizer of the exhibition, Karen Vardanyan expressed hope that the exhibition may become a tool, with the use of which Armenia will become one of the world leaders in the sphere of information technologies.
Vice-President of Ericsson Company Jan Campbell also spoke at the opening of the exhibition and welcomed such an event in Armenia.
Jan Campbell also noted that Ericsson enters the Armenian market, starting to provide the service of IP Television and broadband internet jointly with the local Ucom Company.
As Mediamax was informed in the pavilion of Ucom, already in October the company will start providing IP Television and broadband internet services in the small center of Yerevan. By the end of the following year, the company intends to provide services all over the capital city.
