Banks.am, the Government and the CB of Armenia announced the launch of “I Overcome the Crisis” competition

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Mediamax Agency and Banks.am portal, the Government and the Central Bank of Armenia announced the launch of “I Overcome the Crisis” competition among student essays today.

Mediamax reports that the terms of the competition were presented by the Head of the Government Staff David Sargsyan, Head of Monetary-Credit Policy Department of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Stepanyan and the Director of “Mediamax” Agency Ara Tadevosyan.

David Sargsyan noted that “I Overcome the Crisis” competition will allow the Government gaining a new channel for communicating with the society and its most active part – students. 

“The students need practical application of knowledge they receive, and this competition is a good opportunity for practical self-assertion for students”, Head of the Government Staff stated. He stressed the importance of Mediamax Agency’s initiative, noting that “the government needs new thoughts and new ideas”.

Head of Monetary-Credit Policy Department of Armenian CB Artur Stepanyan stated that the given competition will allow students putting forward “the most daring ideas and suggestions”.

Economics faculty students of all higher educational institutions, having Armenian state accreditation, who present essays on “I Overcome the Crisis” topic, can participate in the competition. “I Overcome the Crisis” general topic consists of 4 subtopics:

1. What should the Central Bank undertake in order to bring the monetary-credit policy to compliance with the crisis challenges?
2. What should the Government undertake to secure economy development in crisis conditions?
3. What should private business undertake to not only preserve what it possesses, but also develop in crisis conditions?
4. What should Armenian banks, possessing the necessary liquidity, undertake to really contribute to economy development and application of non-standard solutions?

Essays may be presented under one or more subtopics.

All essays should be presented in Armenian language and in electronic format, size not exceeding 5 pages. The main essence of the essay, presented in one or two paragraphs, must be presented on the first page of each essay.

Essays are accepted at www.Banks.am website, in http://banks.am/index.php?al=contest section.

Essays are accepted from April 7 to 20 inclusively. The jury will evaluate works from April 21 to 28, and on April 29 the results of the competition will be summed up. 10 best works will be presented at www.Banks.am website, and their authors will meet with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian, Ministers of the economy bloc and members of the Board of the Central Bank. Authors of 3 best essays will be awarded money prizes respectively at the volume of 150 thousand, 100 thousand and 75 thousand AMD. Interested organizations and company may establish their own awards for students.
