The new stage of Internet Alphabet project by Rostelecom in cooperation with Ayb School and Wikimedia Armenia was launched in February.
The project is a range of computer classes for people above 50, which includes the most important aspects of computer literacy from structure of equipment to application of online resources.
A meeting-event dedicated to the launch of the classes was held in February, during which the participants got acquainted with the tutors and details of the course.
“We attach special importance to this project as it gives people above 50 the opportunity to be familiar with modern technologies and online resources, allowing them using computers more confidently, making online purchases and payments, getting acquainted with technologies with the help of the youth. The project is also a chance to establish communication between generations and exchange experience through unique methodology, which I think is most important achievement of the project,” Rostelecom Armenia CEO Hayk Faramazyan noted.
Two groups of people (aged 51-74) already attend the classes, which will be completed in April with a certificate award ceremony.
The classes within the frames of Internet Alphabet project are conducted in Armenian with manual, specially developed for the Armenian audience and the electronic version available at www.azbukainterneta.ru.
The project has been implemented in Armenia since 2015. More than 250 participants from Yerevan and marzes have got acquainted with computer skills and received answers to their questions.
