Facebook’s FbStart awarded USD 100k to Armenian-American SoloLearn, the largest code-teaching platform.
The startup won in Global App of the Year category.
The event got 900 submissions from 87 countries.
CEO and Co-founder of SoloLearn Yeva Hyusyan remarked in an interview to TechCrunch that SoloLearn had turned into the “friendliest” community of peer learners with over half a million public codes, used as great peer-to-peer learning tool.
According to Yeva Hyusyan, users are generating a lot of the content themselves.
1.5 million quizzes are completed daily and 3 codes are compiled every second by 5+ million profiled learners of the app.
Some 40% of users are based in India, 25% in the U.S., and the rest is across Europe.
Let us remind that SoloLearn received USD 1,2mln seed round last year.
