Prime Minister: ICT may become the driving force for changes in the economy, environment and culture

On the initiative of Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, yet another discussion on the development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) was held today in the cabinet.

Prime Minister got acquainted with the review of proposals on both short-term and long-terms development of the sector, as well as the process of program elaboration. He was reported that discussions are now underway in that direction within the frames of the working group of interested departments and ITC representatives.
    
Karen Karapetyan attached importance to boosting progress in ITC sector through state-private sector cooperation and increasing the number of people with the same vision and civic position as ITC representatives.  
    
“I pin my hopes on you, you can become the driving force, which will change the economy, as well as environment and culture,” Karen Karapetyan noted, expressing readiness to support all constructive initiatives.

The results of the work and detailed program packages with concrete measures will be introduced to Armenian Prime Minister in 2017.
