VivaCell-MTS supports holding of SunChild 5th Festival

During a joint press conference held at Golden Tulip Yerevan the Director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets Ruben Khachatryan and VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian announced the opening of SunChild 5th International Environmental Festival.

The opening ceremony of the Festival was followed by the screening of the film “The Wisdom to Survive” by John Ankele and Anne Macksoud.

The SunChild Festival is organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets with support from the RA Ministry of Environment and VivaCell-MTS.

“As the pioneer of CSR in Armenia VivaCell-MTS has not only supported environmental projects but has been part of these activities, taking into account that environmental protection is the main driver for CSR.  Nowadays the real challenge is to synergize the efforts of both the private sector and environmental/social movements, and it’s very important that these two spheres cooperate and promote the cause based on the values shared by both organizations. “SunChild” has played a vital role in enhancing environmental movement to higher quality level, and we are excited to be standing at the roots of this unique festival. “SunChild” festival aims at promoting environmental awareness in Armenia. Year by year the festival embraces more audience and participants, and we can surely state that a huge process is underway in Armenia, positive results of which are yet to come,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.

The film program of the Festival includes 70 short, feature-length, animated and documentary movies from 22 countries. Most of the movies have received numerous awards in renowned environmental film festivals around the world.

Besides the film program, different workshops, educational programs and open air events will be organized in frames of the festival.
