Beeline and Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts have today announced the start of cooperation within which Beeline will support the Institute in digitizing ancient documents and manuscripts and works of restoring the manuscript and printed heritage.
“Today, without use of digital technologies and e-resources it’s impossible to think of the modern system of preservation of the manuscript heritage. Matenadaran’s role and significance in development of scientific thought and preservation and passage of historical heritage to young generation is irreplaceable. Beeline’s this project will help change peoples lives for the better making it easier, making these important documents and manuscripts available for any person in any corner of the world”, noted Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.
“Matenadaran’s main function is to preserve and restore manuscript treasures, valuable documents, ancient books and their scientific popularization. The main potential and funds of Matenadaran are engaged in the process; the technical potential is being updated and innovative technologies are being introduced. Our partners and benefactors including Beeline are also involved in the process. The charity project worked out by our joint efforts is targeted: through Japanese restorative materials who are considered the highest quality in the world, we will restore a large number of ancient manuscripts and documents of great importance. We hope our cooperation in the field will be ongoing and we thank our new sponsors for it”, noted Matenadaran’s director’s advisor Ara Khzmalyan.
Beeline also supports implementation of “Conservation and Scientific-Technical Improvement of Manuscripts, Rare Documents and Ancient Books of Matenadaran” project. Within the program, the company will allocate funds to restoration of hundreds of damaged copies of written heritage.
