Orange Foundation continues community development projects in Syunik region

Orange Foundation continues its rural development activity in regions of Armenia. This week, 2 computer rooms and a kindergarten have been equipped and furnished in Bnunis, Ouyts and Ashotavan villages of Syunik region.

During a one day trip to Syunik region, representatives of Orange Foundation and Shen NGO have visited Bnunis and Ouyts villages to inaugurate the newly equipped computer rooms. The newly opened centers are supplied with Orange MyBox 3G routers, which allow up to 21.6Mbps download speed, as well as with computers and furniture. Moreover, special computer courses are provided to all comers, in order to further promote the creative and educational use of Internet and make Internet services more available for the inhabitants of the villages.

“One of the main emphases Orange Foundation puts in its activity is supporting the digital inclusion of rural communities of Armenia. Orange was the first operator to provide coverage and full range of telecommunication services in a number of  villages, including Bnunis.  We continue our efforts, aimed at making quality telecom services available both in towns and rural areas of Armenia, and are glad to put these 2 computer rooms at the disposal of inhabitants of Bnunis and Ouyts villages.” said Francis Gelibter, Chairman of the board of the Orange Foundation.

During the day representatives of Orange Foundation visited as well Ashotavan village, where a kindergarten has been furnished in partnership with Shen NGO. Now the newly renovated and furnished kindergarten will not only allow more than 30 children to have proper pre-school education but will as well enable their mothers to manage their time freely, and in particular work to create more revenues for the family budget while the kids are taken care of.
