5th Open Game starts with Orange support

Open Game Computer and Mobile Game Development 5th contest started today. The event is organized by the Union of IT Enterprises and Orange Armenia.

“We’re happy to announce the start of the 5th Open Game. Over the years, we have put into practice numerous ideas and creative projects, and many young talented people were revealed. We are proud to contribute to future successes of the young specialists of the field. We already have good examples: Harutyun Amirkhanyan, who was awarded Orange’s Special Prize in Open Game 2014, is now taking internship in one of Orange Group app development divisions. He has integrated his game in the Orange network platform”, said Orange Armenia Brand and Communications Manager Aram Mkrtchyan.

UITE CEO Karen Vardanyan noted in his turn that the contest is not only meant for young developers but musicians, scriptwriters, designers and others.

“It’s an opportunity for various specialists not only from Yerevan but Armenian marzes to enter the international market with their works and solutions”, he said.

According to him, their goal is to involve already established companies in the contest which will stimulate the contest.

2 age groups are presented in the contest- below 18 and above 18. Participants aged below 18 will compete in the following nominations: “The Best Game”, “The Best Design”, “The Best Technological Solution”, “The People’s Prize” which will include results of votes of all the age groups participants.

Contestants aged above 18 will vie in “The Best Game”, “The Best Technological Solution”, “The Best Game Play”, “The Best Design” and “People’s Prize” nominations.

The contest will be held in 4 rounds during which the participants will present their computer games. During all the rounds, participants will develop their projects with the help of jury and present the readymade games during the game exhibition.
