VivaCell-MTS has summed up the results of the first year of implementing Mobile Number Portability (MNP) system.
Thus, in the period from April 1, 2014 till March 31, 2015, 11 350 subscribers ported in to VivaCell-MTS in frames of MNP.
Owing to the effective performance of VivaCell-MTS, in 2014, the Company’s customer base continued to grow. VivaCell-MTS remains the market leader in terms of subscriber base (about 2.15 million, as of the end of 2014) and is proud to differentiate itself with leadership in the network coverage, quantity of base stations, affordable tariffs, attractive products and services, and high quality of customer service.
To remind, the MNP allows subscribers to retain their existing telephone number when they switch from one mobile operator to another. The service was introduced on April 1, 2014, with an aim to provide the subscriber with the freedom to choose a mobile operator. The number of subscribers opting for MNP as a percentage of overall churn is relatively small, leading to the conclusion that MNP has had quite limited impact on competition.
