Operators are fully ready to MNP launch, S. Arabajyan says

Mobile operators are fully ready to launch mobile number portability (MNP) service from April 1, 2014.

Member of Public Services Regulatory Commission Samvel Arabajyan told Mediamax about it.

“The necessary works done by the operators are almost completed and the service will be available from April 1”, he said noting that as of now, the system is being tested.

Samvel Arabajyan expressed the opinion that the mobile number portability service will be in demand in Armenia and it can be used as a tool by operators in the context of enhancing service quality.

The Commission member said that they don’t expect issues related to MNP introduction as “we have studied all the possible issues rather seriously”.

Samvel Arabajyan said that the service due to be introduced in Armenia is similar to the one operating in Spain by its model and main management mechanism.

Earlier, Mediamax presented Beeline’s, Orange’s and VivaCell-MTS’s comments.
