A conference devoted to telemedicine starts in Yerevan

Yerevan/Mediamax/. The first “ARMTELEMED: Way to the Future” first international conference devoted to telemedicine and e-health started in the Russian-Armenian University today.

“Information technologies are introduced into every sphere of our life activities and healthcare is already inconceivable without these technologies”, said President of the Armenian Association of Telemedicine Georgi Chaltikyan at the opening of the conference.

The conference organized in cooperation with the Union of IT Enterprises (UITE) hosts 20 leading telemedicine specialists from various countries.

Technologies applied in the telemedicine and e-health allow the patients to get medical consultations at a distance.

“The government realizes the significance of these programs and serious steps are currently taken to establish a broad telemedicine network in Armenia”, said Georgi Chaltikyan.
