Yerevan/Mediamax/. SunChild third Environmental Festival, the only environmental festival in the South Caucasus, is scheduled for October 14-18 in Yerevan.
This year, the Festival is held for the third time, under “Your Footprint in the Nature” slogan, Mediamax reports.
Director of “SunChild” festival Ruben Khachatryan stated today that the Festival will start with Animal Carnival Parade.
According to him, the festival has 4 programs of films. 70 films were selected out of 100 presented films and they will be shown in 11 cinema houses and then – in the regions of Armenia. Part of the festival program is also an international conference focused on “Role of civil society and private actors in Wildlife Protection in the South Caucasus”.
“We tried to involve various society layers, children in particular and enhance the level of their awareness of environmental problems”, stated the Director of the Festival noting that about 5000 schoolchildren will take part in the screenings with the Yerevan Mayor’s Office support this year.
In his turn, Ralph Yirikian, VivaCell-MTS General Manager, the general sponsor of the Festival, stated that the company hails the initiative.
“We should realize that what we do today we will pass on to our children tomorrow, that’s why we should keep the environment clean”, noted Ralph Yirikian.
