Yerevan /Mediamax/. The net operating income of “ArmenTel” (Beeline trademark) in the second quarter of 2009 reduced by 8.1%, as compared to the same period of 2008, making 18bln 253mln AMD. At that, as compared to the first quarter of 2009, the operating income of the company increased by 7%.
Mediamax reports referring to the financial and operating results of “VimpelCom” OJSC that “ArmenTel” Company’s income from mobile connection in the second quarter reduced for 794.4mln AMD, as compared to the same period of 2008, making 7bln 305.3mln AMD, the income from landline connection reduced for 819.58mln AMD, making 10bln 946.5mln AMD.
At that, as compared to the I quarter, 2009, the income from landline and mobile connection of “ArmenTel” increased respectively by 703.31 and 377.2mln AMD.
The subscriber base of Beeline in Armenia reduced by 25.8% as compared to the II quarter of 2008, making 486 thousands. Beeline’s share in the market cut down in the accounting period by 37%, making 19.2%. At that, as compared to the first quarter, 2009, the number of active subscribers of Beeline mobile connection in Armenia grew by 1%.
Beeline’s average monthly service revenue per subscriber (ARPU) in Armenia made 5034.7 AMD in the second quarter, having increased by 6.9%, as compared to the analogous period of 2008 by 6.9%.
General Director of “ArmenTel” Igor Klimko expressed content by the Company’s development dynamics in the second quarter of 2009. He invited special attention to MOU index (minutes of use per a user per month), the growth of which in the second quarter made 44.6%, as compared to the analogous index of 2008, and as compared to the first quarter of 2009, the growth made 36.5%.
