On November 5 Rostelecom hosted Minders, the Armenian junior team participating in the global stage of World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2019, and representatives of Ayb Educational Foundation in the company’s headquarters.
The Minders will travel to Gyor (Hungary) to represent Armenia in the Olympiad, which will be held on November 8-10 and will gather 423 teams from 73 countries.
The international competition holds a national contest in Armenia since 2016, with Ayb Foundation as the sole representative and official organizer.
Rostelecom Armenia supports the organization of the WRO national contest and participation of the winning team in the global stage since 2018.
“We are happy to receive you here. Participation in this kind of international Olympiad is a significant achievement and experience for each of you. This is the second year we cooperate with Ayb and I am certain that the contest is a great opportunity to represent Armenia and creative thinking of young Armenians and at the same time to bring new ideas and technological solutions to Armenia. I wish you success in Hungary and new achievements in your further education,” Rostelecom Armenia CEO Hayk Faramazyan told the Minders.
The national stage of WRO, held by Ayb, took place on June 23. The winning team, Minders, represented Mind Center. The team’s young engineers – Davit, another Davit, and Levon – are currently practicing under the guidance of their coach, Davit Manucharyan. Soon they will leave for Hungary. In summer, the boys participated in WRO Friendship Challenge as members of the national stage’s 5 resident teams in Aarhus, Denmark. They finished 16th among 42 teams.
