VimpelCom reaffirms decision to invest USD 30m in Armenia in 2017

VimpelCom reaffirmed its decision to invest USD 30 million in Armenia in 2017. The investment will be mainly allocated to modernization of the network, and a large part will be spent on introduction of new digital services.

That fact became known during the meeting between Armenian Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan, VimpelCom Group CEO Jean-Yves Charlier, Group Chief Performance Officer Alexander Matuschka and Group Chief External Affairs Officer Mark MacGann in Barcelona.

The parties discussed the possibility of introduction of VimpelCom’s new development model in Armenia, and the company representatives reaffirmed the promise to double investments in Armenia in 2017, given to Vahan Martirosyan in February.

According to VimpelCom representatives, that will be a continuous approach to investment policy.

It’s worth reminding that VimpelCom announced its rebranding to VEON at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
