Out of 54 teams of young entrepreneurs who signed up to participate in the Challenge, national juries selected the top three winners from each participating country.
The winners are: «DailyDoc», «Localz» և «Medlee».
All awarded teams are invited to take part in the regional final in Moscow, on January 27-28.
Yogesh Malik, Group Chief Technology Officer, VimpelCom said: “At VimpelCom we are always on the lookout for innovative mobile business solutions. Since the Eurasia Mobile Challenge gives young entrepreneurial talents an opportunity to come up with creative, tangible ideas, my expectation is to see inspiring examples of ‘out of the box’, alternative thinking that might become the next industry disruption. I look forward to following the pitches at the regional final in January in Moscow.”
“First, I would like to congratulate the winners for the victory in this difficult and strong competition. I am sure the three winner teams from Armenia are indeed the ones with the most innovative and creative solutions. I wish them luck in the upcoming regional final in Moscow and also hope to see them with the industry’s next big mobile solution in the Global Mobile Challenge final in Barcelona”, - said Andrey Pyatakhin, General Director of Beeline Armenia.
The Eurasia Mobile Challenge, launched in September, is a project under VimpelCom’s Make Your Mark program (link to web pages) and the competition is being run in partnership with Huawei Technologies Co, Ltd. As part of the competition, young entrepreneurs were tasked to come up with the industry’s next big mobile solution for one of the following categories: “entertainment and culture”, “environmental benefit”, “social benefit” or “other”. The teams were coached and judged on innovativeness, relevance to the local community, scalability, originality, and business model feasibility by successful local and international entrepreneurs, as well as VimpelCom leaders.
Winning teams will be invited to deliver their pitch presentations at the regional final, and three winners from the Eurasia region will be selected to participate in the Global Mobile Challenge final in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, 22-26 February 2016.
