Terrestrial TV broadcasting system has been fully digitized in the territory of Armenia, the press release disseminated by the Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communication reads this.
The Ministry recalls that the draft law on “Amendments to the Law “On TV And Radio” was adopted at the second reading in the National Assembly to smoothly overcome all the issues associated with possible social problems arising from the transition from analog TV to digital. Under the draft law, the deadline for analog broadcasting is extended till January 1, 2016.
After the digitization, 18 digital TV channels will be broadcast in Yerevan and adjacent settlements and 9 more in marzes.
The total cost of the program makes AMD6bln 922mln.
