ArmNet Awards 2015 starts

Orange Armenia, Maeutica branding agency and Internet Society of Armenia NGO announced the start of the Fifth Annual ArmNet Awards today.

All the interested persons can apply till March 26.

“Orange has been one of ArmNet Awards co-founders since 2010. We are happy that it’s the fifth year that we have been supporting the project.  Over the 5 years, the project has considerably contributed to development of Armenian online content. We have made progress in terms of creating and ensuring quality of Armenian language content”, Orange Armenia Brand and Communications Director Aram Mkrtchyan said.

He noted that over the years, broadband internet and smartphone users have increased in Armenia.

“Now 86% of our phone sales are smartphones, while they made only 3% in 2010”, he noted.

According to Director of Maeutica branding agency Haykuhi Taksildaryan, ArmNet Awards 2015 participants will compete in “Innovation”, “The Best Content”, “Design and Convenience” and “Social Impact” nominations.

The grand prize will be given to 2 nominations -for the best mobile app and best website. ArmNet traditional conference will also be held.

The jury of ArmNet Awards 2015 will study all the projects submitted till March 26 and announce the names of the contenders for each nomination on March 30. The jury will be headed by Samvel Martirosyan.

President of Internet Society of Armenia Grigor Saghyan attached importance to the Armenian content on the internet and noted that the Internet Society will register domain names ending in «.հայ» this year.
