Fellows of Beeline Scholarship program selected

The fellow students who will be granted scholarships from "ArmenTel" within "Beeline Scholarship" program were announced.

Commission comprising representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and independent experts selected 95 fellows and 178 contenders as a result of the second round of interviews.

Students of Yerevan State University were granted the maximum number of scholarships - 30% of the overall number of winners. Students of Yerevan State Economic University - 12.5%- follow YSU students. Students of Yerevan State Linguistic University, French University of Armenia and Yerevan State Pedagogic University took an active part in the project.

Students from universities of marzes also took part in the contest. Vanadzor State University was the leader among regional universities with 3 fellows who will be granted scholarships. Overall, the number of girls -70%- exceeds the number of boys among the fellows.

"Beeline Scholarship program again proved that Armenian youth is smart and talented. I am sure that these young people will have a bright future as they just charmed jury members with their creative and innovative thinking and proved they can face the challenges of the modern world. All the programs sponsored by "ArmenTel" have one main goal - to change people's lives for the better and I think the program one of the best examples of our corporate strategy", said ArmenTel CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.

"We are happy to see innovative and interesting offers from students. The commission have examined students for several days in a row and selected the best. I hope they will be able to put their ideas into practice", said the Director of British Council Armenia Office Arevik Saribekyan.

It should be noted that Beeline Scholarship program is held jointly with Armenian Office of British Council, Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and is aimed at supporting students who study on a paid basis in the country's state universities. 568 students applied for participation in the contest. Besides the scholarships, British Council will hold a drawing among the finalists of the project and as a result, one student will get the chance to take educational courses in the United Kingdom.
