Orange: conditions for MNP introduction will be created in Armenia in 2013

Yerevan/Mediamax/. A normative base for Mobile Number Portability (MNP) services and conditions necessary for its introduction will be created in Armenia in 2013, stated Orange Armenia CEO Francis Gelibter.

MNP allows a subscriber to change the operator without changing the phone number.

Orange Armenia CEO expressed his gratitude towards the State Services Regulatory Commission (SSRC) of Armenia for its readiness to handle the issue.

MNP is required for mobile operators operating across EU and the service is free of charge in the majority of the countries. In early 2011, it was also introduced in Georgia.
