Orange and World Vision Armenia launch “Protect children in families” charitable SMS-project

Yerevan/Mediamax/. In connection with the International Children’s Day, Orange and World Vision Armenia launched “Protect children in families” charitable SMS-project.

“Within the framework of the project every subscriber can help children who have parents but who are forced to live in an orphanage,” Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit said.

Sending an SMS message to 1234 and 5678 short numbers, Orange subscribers donate AMD 100 and AMD 500 correspondingly. At the end of every month, Orange Foundation will double the sum received from donations and provide it to World Vision Armenia. The employees of World Vision Armenia will provide part of the sum to families’ everyday needs and the other part will be used for creating an income for the kid, which will later enable the family to be independent.

“We are glad for this cooperation. Our goal is to ensure that children lived in families, enjoyed the love and care of their family-members. We would like to ensure their economic stability,” said World Vision Armenia Director Graham Strong.

The project will last a year, during which Orange Foundation will periodically inform the public about the accumulated sum and families whom the money has been provided.
