Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia’s leading telecommunications operator VivaCell-MTS has provided the Goris State University with 2 interactive blackboards with projectors to guarantee communication with the students, 2 laser printers, 3G routers working within “Home-Zone Turbo” package, and a lab equipped with 10 computers connected to the world wide web.
Additionally, a Wi-Fi corner has been created which will be available for all university patrons. The Wi-Fi connection provided by VivaCell-MTS will give an opportunity to use free of charge internet on the territory of the university.
Syunik, known in the history of the medieval Armenia for the university in Tatev, still has a mission in the sphere of education. The university founded in Goris 45 years ago is strategically important in that it is the only state university in the south of the republic preparing high quality specialists for both Syunik and Artsakh.
“We believe encouraging the young people’s demand to develop their potential and the right for education is just. The distance from the capital should not be a great obstacle for those who want to take the advantage of modern solutions. Technical means play a dramatic role in providing productivity of education. Our being here proves our commitment to achieve these set goals,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
Armenia’s leading telecommunications operator’s cooperation with the Goris State University includes also the organization of the professional internships for students to provide them with a chance of combining theory with practice. The Company has also supported students from socially vulnerable families with covering their tuition fees through the educational fund.
