VivaCell-MTS announces an essay competition among students

Yerevan/Mediamax/. VivaCell-MTS announces an essay competition among students of Armenia. The applicants are free to use any direction/scope of the essay they want within the frames of the below topics:

1.    Internet: Connecting or Disconnecting People?
2.    The Mobile Internet Impact on Education and Daily Life.
3.    The Internet: What Comes Next in Evolution?
4.    How Did Social Media Change Your Life?

Applicants shall hold a valid student card until the results of the competition are announced; аpplicants should use VivaCell-MTS internet to post his/her essay (using “MTS Connect” USB modem, 3G compatible handset, routers, etc.); the essay shall be an original work and shall not be published on the date of submission; the applicants are encouraged to use any online information sources for their research; the preferable length of the essay is 18,000 characters (without spaces), excluding bibliography pages. Shorter or longer manuscripts are admissible, within reason. An abstract of about 150 words should be included.

The page format is 2/2/2/2, 1.5 line spacing, font – 12, Arial or Times New Roman; the authors are allowed to submit their essays in three languages – Armenian, Russian or English; the essay shall be written with no mistakes; essays will not be considered if there is significant amount of mistakes or they do not conform with the set requirements; the proposals should contain bibliography page indicating all the used sources; the applicants should clearly mention their university name and contacts.

Applicants should apply directly through http://mts.am/essay before May 15, 2012.

The best essays will be announced by the end of May 2012. The winners will be chosen by the anonymous review done by the VivaCell-MTS special committee for this program. The winners will get smartphones and tablets. The works of the winners will be posted on the VivaCell-MTS Career webpage and will be available in the VivaCell-MTS library. VivaCell-MTS reserves the right to edit the manuscript not altering its original content.
