Orange thinks the Armenian government’s support to introduction of MNP system important

Erevan/Mediamax/. Executive Vice President on European Markets of France Telecom-Orange Group Benoit Scheen said in Yerevan today that the introduction of the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) system and the support of the Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communication to this issue are very important.

Benoit Scheen said this during his meeting with Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan today. Manuk Vardanyan suggested establishing a joint task force which will examine the issue taking into account the legislation of the European countries and interests of the other operators.

Touching upon Orange’s activity in Armenia, the Minister expressed his content with the work realized and noted that the company pursued rather an aggressive policy by suggesting new initiatives.

The Minister offered Benoit Scheen to discuss issues related to reduction of tariffs for roaming services as well as satellite internet services using the 2 satellites provided to Armenia by the ITU and the system of French satellites.

The Vice President of France Telecom-Orange Group expressed his readiness to discuss the issues presented by the Minister, Mediamax was told in the Ministry.
