Yerevan/Mediamax/. We were “an ideal team” with Steve Jobs, Apple co-founder and the inventor of the first personal computer in the world, Steve Wozniak, said in Yerevan today.
During the meeting with the students of the State Engineering University of Armenia, Steve Wozniak said he always wanted to become an engineer and he was not interested in glory, politics or business, whereas Steve Jobs was a businessman and a business-leader, Mediamax reports.
Steve Wozniak told the students that he had affection for engineering from early childhood, noting that his first invention was made at the age of 10, and it was a home radio.
Speaking about the history of establishment of Apple, Steve Wozniak said that the first days and months were the toughest also because he worked in HP at the time and loved that company. However, HP did not approve of his computer inventions, saying “it’s more a hobby than a serious business”. After that, he joined the Apple. “It was a hard decision for me,” Steve Wozniak remembers.
“As for the name of Apple, Steve Wozniak said that one day Steve jobs returned from an apple farm and, pondering over the name of our company, he offered to name it Apple Computers. It was a simple and a dear word, used in our everyday life with such combinations as, for example, an apple pie,” the engineer noted.
“We sold the first lost of computers for $666,66. It was my idea, because I always loved the repetitive numbers. But we knew nothing about the meaning of that number then,” said Steve Wozniak.
The legendary engineer also admitted that he had done everything with a smile and jokingly. When asked about whether he will return to Armenia, Steve Wozniak said he would like to, as he is deeply impressed with Armenia and it’s a big honor for him to receive an honorable award. “Armenia has become part of me,” he concluded.
