Yerevan/Mediamax/. From now on, part of the funds of Armenian museums will be presented as touchpad kiosks.
As Armenian Deputy Culture Minister Arev Samuelyan told Mediamax, 8 touchpad kiosks will be established at the National Gallery, Folk Arts Museum and Khachaturian’s Museum this spring.
Preparatory works began in 2009, after the inventory of all museum exhibits. Many museums began digitizing their funds afterwards.
The Museum of History of Armenia was the “pioneer”, which already has two touchpad kiosks. As Director of the Museum, Anelka Grigoryan told Mediamax, after digitization all necessary information about this or that exhibit will be available on touchpad kiosks in three languages- Armenian, Russian and English,.
“The kiosks allow the visitors getting familiar with the museum funds, which cannot be fully seen physically,” Anelka Grigoryan went on, noting that today 300 exhibits from half-million museum funds are presented in touchpad kiosks, and the “electronic exposition” will be renewed in the future.
By choosing any section (archeology or ethnography), the visitor may get detailed information about museum exhibits.
