Craig Barrett believes that it will be useful for Armenia to study the practice of tax stimulation of IT industry

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Former Head of Intel Corporation Craig Barrett believes that it would be useful for Armenian authorities to study the practice of other countries on taxation of the IT sector.

Craig Barrett, who received Armenian President’s award yesterday for significant contribution to IT development, stated at a news conference today that countries use various tax stimuli. He brought Romania as an example. It has fully exempted programmers from payment of the income tax.

Craig Barrett stated that he had held efficient meetings with the President, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy of Armenia, during which he discussed with them the current state and prospects of information technologies’ development, in particular, programs on increasing the quality of education in the sphere of high technologies.

“I know that Intel is interested in realizing educational programs in Armenia. Today I cannot speak on behalf of the corporation, but I know that Intel considers the chance of realizing investments in this country”, Craig Barrett stated.
