“VivaCell-MTS” reminded that it launched its HSPA 3G network over a year ago

Yerevan/Mediamax/. “VivaCell-MTS” operator reminded that on April 17, 2009, it officially launched its 3G network, based on HSPA technology, in Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor.

“We consider it proper to note that HSPA consists of two technological parts: HSDPA (for traffic download) and HSUPA (for traffic upload). The speed of HSDPA makes up to 7.2Mbit/sec, and the speed of HSUPA – up to 1.83Mb/sec. Later on, “VivaCell-MTS” 3G network, based on HSPA, was expanded and on October 27, 2009, we announced launch of its commercial operation in all regions of Armenia”, the statement of the company notes.

No additional fee is collected from “VivaCell-MTS” subscribers for use of HSPA technology services.

On June 18, Orange Armenia operator announced the launch of “High upload” service provision and announced that “Orange is the first mobile operator implementing HSUPA technologies in Armenia and in the South Caucasus”.
