Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian government made a decision today to introduce distance learning system in higher educational institutions of the country.
Minister of Science and Education of Armenia Armen Ashotyan stated at the session of the government that this decision will allow organizing distance learning both for local students and for the Armenians of the Diaspora.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian noted that the decision became a subject of active discussions, and it will allow defining the order for distance learning in higher educational institutions of the country with the use of information technologies.
According to him, by this decision the government is introducing a new culture of education, which aims at increasing the quality of education.
“Armenia is a member of Bologna Process and we are the only country, where there is no opportunity of distance learning. After introducing the distance learning system, we should form the corresponding policy to secure competitiveness of the country in the sphere of higher education”, Tigran Sargsian stated.
