Yerevan /Mediamax/. Three mobile connection operators - VivaCell-MTS, Beeline and Orange Armenia have turned to Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia with the request to set tariffs for interconnect.
PSRC Member Samvel Arabajyan said this in an interview to Mediamax.
He noted that now there are intensive discussions in process among the companies and PSRC specialists, and in the first decade of September, the Commission will make a decision on new tariffs for interconnect. Samvel Arabajyan expressed confidence that the new tariffs will allow receiving connection at more affordable and lower prices.
“It is pleasant that the companies realize the fact that after establishment of the current tariffs for interconnection, the market significantly expanded and the situation in it changed”, PSRC Member stated in an interview to Mediamax.
Samvel Arabajyan also noted that in the view of the expected entry of new fixed (landline) connection operators to the market, PSRC carries out thorough work on establishing tariffs for interconnect also in the directions of fix to fix, fix to mobile, mobile to fix.
He informed that in early 2009, PSRC established the timeframe for talks among the operators, which strived to present a single application for tariffs on interconnection, however in the given period the companies failed to agree with each other.
