“Orange Armenia” to enter the market according to promised schedule

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Public Service Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia met the application of “FTA-Telecom” today on renaming the company into “Orange Armenia”.

As the General Director of the Company Bruno Duthoit stated today, “FTA-Telecom” name was of technical nature and was chosen for participation in the tender to receive the license of the third mobile connection operator.

Bruno Duthoit informed that works on building the mobile network of “Orange Armenia” are at their active stage and the company will enter the market according to the promised schedule. He noted that in Armenia the company will introduce the values of “Orange”, which provide for close interrelations with subscribers.

Commenting on the announcement of PSRC, made in January, according to which the Commission was studying the opportunity of implementing MNP (Mobile Number Portability) services in Armenia, Bruno Duthoit stated that “Orange Armenia” will follow the decision of the regulator. He noted that MNP service gives greater freedom to subscribers; however, to implement it, corresponding technical preparedness of all operators will be necessary.
