More than 500 thousand Viva-MTS subscribers use the VoLTE service

Viva-MTS offers the only acting commercial VoLTE service in Armenia.

VoLTE is a new generation of technology that allows voice calls to be made over 4G/LTE networks. It is a technology that enables transferring voice signal over 4G network. The advantage of LTE is the possibility to stay connected to 4G internet while making call or during conversation.

The advantage of LTE is the possibility to stay connected to 4G internet while making call or during conversation. Viva-MTS offers the only commercial VoLTE service in Armenia.  

The connection is set up from smartphone. The voice sound is if calling parties stand next to each other. The technology is available for a VoLTE compatible smartphone with the latest software updates and allows talking on the phone and using the 4G Internet at the same time, watching movies, downloading videos and using social networks. There is no additional charge when using VoLTE connection and the rates and packages specified for voice services in the current tariff plan are valid. The benefits of making calls with VoLTE technology are the high-quality voice services: clear and clean sound transmission, high-speed connection (within 1,5-2 seconds), stable connection without latency.

A VoLTE compatible smartphone or tablet with the latest software updates, Viva-MTS 4G/LTE USIM or eSIM card and network compatibility are needed to connect the VoLTE.

VoLTE connection setting (depending on the device model, they may be somewhat different from the one below):

•    For “iOS”: Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Enable 4G ->Voice & Data
•    For “Android”: Settings -> Mobile networks -> Turn on VoLTE call

If the subscriber’s smartphone supports VoLTE, but the user encounters problems of using it, then he or she needs to update the operating system of smartphone and make sure that the device is in the list of smartphones supporting VoLTE service mentioned on Viva-MTS website. Viva-MTS cooperates with the largest smartphone brands and continuously expands the list to make VoLTE service available to a wider audience.

VoLTE status can be checked sending the command *412#. On smartphones with “Android” operation system, the HD sign appears on the device screen when VoLTE is connected. For “iOS”, the connection is not visible on the screen, so check the connection must be checked in the device settings. In addition, if VoLTE is available, the LTE connection sign is visible during the call, while letting you continue using the 4G Internet.
