The technical staff of Ucom continues restoring the work of mobile and fixed-line networks step-by-step.
The reason for the unavailability of services in the evening of July 8 was the overload caused by power fluctuation in the main technical system. The resulting failure has also affected the normal operation of other subsystems. Access to mobile voice services, as well as fixed-line internet was operatively restored within about 2 hours.
Other services provided by Ucom will be fully restored as soon as components ordered from abroad arrive in Armenia.
“At the moment, the operation of mobile and fixed-lined networks is ensured with backup generators. Our technical staff, which is comprised of top specialists with work experience in the best international companies, has really solved the problem in an unprecedentedly short period of time.
I would like to thank our many partners in Armenia and abroad, including a number of government agencies, Ucom corporate and individual customers for their prompt support. It should be noted that the necessary components have already been ordered and will be in Armenia in a few days,” said Ucom Director General Ara Khachatryan.
Installation and launch of the operation with the new components will be carried out at night, so that possible communication fluctuations cause minimal inconvenience to Ucom subscribers.
